2015
WRX
-CNT equal length headers
-COBB resonated catted J-Pipe
-SubieSpeed quadtip catback exhaust
Installed the headers by myself. First attempt I drained all coolant since I was going to install a Mishimoto Radiator. I drained oil since I was going to do an oil change. No mess other than pulling the OEM headers out with turbo. Excess due to oil and coolant that are supplied to turbo. Install was more than an hour for me on first attempt.
Second attempt I did not drain coolant or oil before removal. I had minimal mess. Just make sure to clamp off necessary lines.
Sound:
There is a considerable difference in sound if you're running a setup similar to mine. I'm sure if you're Catless from what I've heard, not to big of a difference. I'll do my best to get sound clips. Check out my instagram @zoom_buh.
Tune: Running the car lightly, it is not tuned for headers. No check engine light has appeared or codes on COBB AP. Tune is recommended. I am debating on flex fuel hence me waiting to tune it.
Issue: I had a small issue w/ Turbo heat sheild bracket fitting on headers, however I was able to nudge the bracket in correctly.
Tips:
Do not use supplied gaskets from CNT due to possible flange warping.
Buy OEM gaskets.
Buy new studs and nuts.
Buy anti seize for threads.
Make sure you torque nuts correctly and have proper tools.
Take your time and be careful with oil feed line, studs, and nuts.
There are exposed holes that bolts and nuts may fall into such as turbo so be cautious.
If you hear noises or have vibrations then it's most likely the skid plate hitting the header. You may need to get some spacers from hardware store or use extra washers to create the space. DONT BE ALARMED.
